About Us
Kathy and Kathy started The Bee-Line Express in 2002. After moving back to the area to be close to aging family members, it became apparent that jobs in the computer field were sparse, and it might be necessary to find another way to support themselves. What that might be, they did not know. Before finding the answer that would lead them to create the Bee-Line Express, they made a couple of feeble attempts in other areas.

First, signing on with Manpower they were assigned at GlenAire to take a class in soddering components on computer boards.and work on the line. This ended up much like Lucy and Ethel working in the chocolate factory. "It didn't take long to realize we were not cut out for factory work." Next, they decided to take up yard work and lawn mowing. Another mistake, as their tendency to under price jobs lead to exhausting days for little compensation. While sitting on a roof and cleaning out the gutters on a three story home, they came to the conclusion that there had to be something else out there that they could do and maybe even enjoy doing.

With plenty of time (trimming bushes and cleaning gutters) to ponder the possibilities, they concluded that they both loved to drive and there might be a need to take people to the new Casino that just opened up across the river. Well, once again they were wrong, but only in their choice of destinations. Once they realized that the most often requested destination was the airport, they began to build a service business to meet the demand.

Continually modifying the business to meet the needs of the customer, Bee-Line Express has grown from a single van to six vehicles and up to 10 part time drivers. There are still exhausting days, but the satisfaction of doing something to fill a need in the community, and doing it better than anyone else keeps the job exciting as well as fulfilling.
